Spring, where are you?

March was rough. First, we suffered through a mega-snowstorm that dumped 18" and took power away for 3 days. On the first day of spring, we experienced another 8" that closed schools and shortened spring break. As if that weren't enough, Mother Nature played a very cruel April Fool's Day joke and it snowed another 6" on April 2nd that extended the school year one extra day! I want to scream, don't you?

Hurry up and get here, spring!

Last month wasn't all bad news, however, as I celebrated my 45th birthday. There's something changing with my style and I think it's simplicity (simplify happens to be my word for 2018). I want life to be uncomplicated and that goes with my style as well. If you can relate and you're looking for something sleek and easy, consider these minimalist Vince mules. Perfect for transitional weather as we anxiously await the warmer temperatures.

Hopefully next month, we'll all be wearing dresses and sandals!

Below, I'm sharing my 5 Favorite Things for the new season, even though it's still only 35 degrees here in NJ. 🙄

1. goodreads

This year, my goal is to read 25 books and I've completed 17! I've been using goodreads to track books I've read and ones I'm interested in - check out my list here.

2. Oprah's SuperSoul Podcast

Listening to Oprah's podcast has been a nice way to find my sense of calm during a busy day while driving. Some of my favorite episodes include "Rupaul Charles: We're All in Drag" and "Gretchen Rubin: 8 Rules to Happiness".

3. Charlotte Tillbury Rock and Kohl Eyeliner

Marlene Midnight, a deep navy that's softer than black. Goes on smooth and stays all day. I love how Charlotte Tilbury's website has a section called "See it on your skintone" which shows the product on different women.

4. Bralette

The bralette is a cross between your everyday bra and sports bra. It's super comfortable and designed to wear around the house and on weekends.

5. Tulips

With 3 growing kids in the house I end up at the grocery store at least twice a week. A fresh bouquet of colorful tulips makes the dreaded supermarket run more bearable, brightens up my kitchen, and simply makes me happy!
