WHAT HAPPENS DURING A PERSONAL SHOPPING TRIP?
Have you ever wondered what happens during a shopping trip when you hire a personal stylist? People often ask me, "What does a personal stylist do?" Personal shopping is one part of my job and it comes with my Sort, Shop & Style package.
Here's how it works:
Before you arrive, I do a preshop of items on your wish list. I usually spend 1-2 hours shopping on my own at 2-3 different stores, depending on what you're looking for.
I set up the dressing room so when you arrive, everything is ready for you. All you have to do is start trying on clothes! No browsing around or searching for pieces in your size. I've done all the work for you.
As you are trying on clothes, I look closely to check fit and make sure the piece looks perfect on you. I tuck in all the tags, check the quality of the garment and talk to you about what works best for your body type and lifestyle.
I check all angles including back, sides and how an outfit looks while sitting. I want to make sure you feel comfortable and the item is not fussy on you, meaning you shouldn't have to tuck or move the piece around on your body - it should fit perfectly.
I give you my honest opinion because I don't have any obligations to a specific brand or store - ultimately I want you to be happy with your purchases.
I keep things fun and relaxed! My job is to make sure you're comfortable. If you need a different color or size, I will take care of that for you. No waiting for a salesperson.
I can tell when you've tried on something that you love because it shows in your smile and body language. This is my favorite part of the job - when you find something you love.
The end result is a stress-free shopping trip that lasts about 2 hours where you feel confident about the purchases you've made. There is no pressure to spend a lot of money or buy lots of clothes. You only buy what you love!
My shopping trip with Gretchen took place at Nordstrom Rack because she is a bargain shopper. We found some beautiful pieces to elevate her wardrobe for her upcoming presentations. Gretchen is the founder of Character U, creator of The 12 Cs and Life Tools Workshop and author of "The Adventures of Ooga and Zeeta". Her goal is to help young boys and girls learn 12 essential life tools to thrive and succeed. Through interesting characters, relatable stories and fun workshops children learn these valuable tools to help them navigate through the ups and downs of life.
